Job Description Location: Mumbai, MH Position Summary & Scope: As a features writer at Vogue India, you will play a vital role in producing engaging, curated and well-written fashion and culture features for the website. Working closely with the fashion and features editors, you will contribute to the creation of captivating stories that align with Vogue's brand identity and cater to the Indian and global markets. Experience: 2-4 years Areas of Responsibility (Key Result Areas): Trend spotting - Keep abreast of all fashion and pop culture news and tailor features to respond accordingly. Remember, before it's in fashion, it's in Vogue, so in-depth knowledge about fashion is a prerequisite. Producing quality features - Produce well-researched, engaging and original features, interviews and opinion pieces that align with Vogue India's style, tone and editorial guidelines. It is crucial to have an ear to the ground at all times so you're able to present one-of-a-kind stories that haven't been told before. Fact Checking - Verify the accuracy, credibility and authenticity of information and sources used in the features articles. Adhering to deadlines and quick turnaround - In the fast-paced universe of Condé Nast, content is king but timing is queen. As part of the leading fashion publication in the world, you will need to ensure that feature targets for fashion and culture pieces are always met. Collaboration - Collaborate with Photographers, Stylists, Writers and other creatives to bring a new perspective to fashion and culture content. Liaising with contributing writers - This involves writing to and compiling pitches from Vogue India's fashion and feature contributors and running them by the respective section editors to create a monthly calendar. Networking - Attend fashion shows, events, and industry gatherings to build relationships with key stakeholders, gather industry insights, and source potential feature opportunities. Ideating for social media - One of the key responsibilities of your job is to ideate on how to tell stories for social media. Social is a constantly evolving behemoth and with the proliferation of apps, it is crucial for you to have a sound understanding of the landscape in order to adapt content for each platform. Ideating for video content - Vogue has seen great results in its thrust towards video content and our video strategy is something we will continue to refine and solidify over the course of the next few months. Robust organizational skills with the ability to problem solve, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize tasks effectively. This position is based at the Support Office in Bangalore, Karnataka, India and requires existing permit to work in India.
